I was contacted by Bill Weidmann of Atlanta's award winning Weidmann Remodeling & Renovation to inquire about staging some 'after' photos for their portfolio.
While quality materials and superb craftsmanship are the bones of a room, it's the finishing details that give it a warm & fuzzy feeling in person and in photos.
I was thrilled to say the least because I was well aware of this company's solid reputation. Then to be working with professional photographer Jan Stittleburg (located in Atlanta) was the icing on the cake. Ooh... I'd hope to sneak-a-peek through her lens, think she'll let me? Just maybe I'll be able to pick up some useful tips like how not to get my hand or derriere in the shot! Ooh-la-la indeed!
After I asked for some construction photos (pictured below) I delved into my stash, & packed up the truck. I was really looking forward to staging the photos for this Remodeler's portfolio.

Now on this particular job I was not to hide all the beautiful finishes and craftsmanship that was put into this job with accessories. Restraint was the name of the game here. This tile had three different finishes and was gorgeous! After all, this is what the Remodeler wanted to highlight, the craftsmanship! I was there to enhance the photos with a little warmth. No art was to be hung on the owner's new walls.

The above two single photos and the detail collage were photographed by the talented Jan Stittleburg. And yes, she did let me peek through the lens. I can't wait to work with her & learn more from this talented lady!

Well the above photo collage of close up details are my doing, sigh...I need to sneak more peeks into a professional photographer's lens.
Well at the end of the photo shoot Weidmann's Remodeling & Renovation's client was thrilled too, she thanked me for all the great ideas, a win-win for all involved!

Thanks for the visit John! I thought it was a different way to showcase one's work too!
It turned about beautiful. Can't say that I would ever want pumpkin colored countertops, but you really made it work.
My in-laws had this same countertop color in their kitchen and it was incredible.
You did a fabulous job, Cynthia. Very classy.
Kathy
Hi Cynthia,
Wow! What a great finished product! Congrats to you and the photographer for a job well done! The photos are very eye catching with such bright colors and attention to detail! Thanks for sharing them with us!
:)
Hi Cynthia-Just want to say a BIG CONGRATS to you for a super job on this but also to say CONGRATS on the great honor of doing this. WAY COOL!!!! Awesome my friend. <SMILE>
Cynthia your silver pieces added just the right touch of class and your accessories are perfect to enhance these spaces. Bravo to you! Beautiful work!
You did a great job showcasing the bathroom Cynthia! I too wish I could use a professional photographer on every job! :)
Sorry I had to post and ghost. As soon as I finished the blog I went to the Herman Miller Showroom in Atlanta to attend an IFDA (International Furnishings & Design Association) meeting as a guest. Mohawk Home & Sam Flax put on a great presentation incorporating upcoming trends.
And YES, I did sit in just about every fabulous comfortable Herman Miller chair and couch. I was oh so tempted by a sleek little number called Nelson...he had my name written all over it and I just fell into his arms, it was a chair just in case you were wondering ;)

Hi Tammy, I have to admit I couldn't be this bold in choosing a staple such as the color of the counter top, I'm a basic kinda gal when it comes to that. And orange is one of my favorite colors too. But I will say this is on beautiful master bath. It's always nice to see your 'Angelic' face in my comment section ;o)
Hey Kathy, Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment. This client went all out, even had a Schonbeck chandelier in the room, the details were scrumptious!
Hello Matt, Thanks for the visit! It was fun, fun, fun working on this job and peeking through Jan's lens. I hope to work again on this type of project. "Meow"
Hey there Sharon, You always have the kindest things to say, you are all a doll! This job was WAY COOL!
Awww Cathy you're making me blush, I appreciate your compliments! I'm thinking of your very good friend Josh this morning.
Hi Michele, Well it was the first time for me using a professional, now I'm spoiled :( I'm determined to learn more in the photography group. Thank for the kinds words, it's much appreciated!
You did an amazing job bringing in the color of the counter tops throughout the space and enhancing the finishes of, not only the tiles & such, but the fixtures as well. GREAT job!
Hi Connie, Why thank you for your wonderful compliment! This was job was truly a joy to work on.
Excellent choices to enhance and focus on the "important parts"! Love the towels at the bottom, and the shell on the shelf. Drawing the eye through the space with the exact amount of color, perfect!
Cynthia, That couldn't have been an easy job without adding artwork but you pulled it off beautifully! I didn't doubt you would for a second....lovely job.
Cynthia, I love, love, love that orange you used to accent the taupe-brown tiles. Warms it up and brings some life and energy to a beautiful space. Great work, thanks for showing us.
Hey there Cheryl, Thanks so much for your kind words. I never did this type of job before so I learned one imortant thing, "Get there before the photgrapher!" You should have seen me tear around getting things just so!
Hello Carole, I have to admit Jan (the photographer) and I were saying how great it would have been to have a dynamic abstract to hang by the bath & t more prints by the sink. Oh well it did help I was working w/ one of my favorite colors...orange. I appreciate the compliment!
Hi Wendy, Thanks for visiting me and your nice thoughts concerning my work!
Cynthia, thank you for sharing the results of this exciting project. Looks beautiful--and some great exposure for your business too!
Hello Holly, Thanks so much for taking the time to visit, I hope to see more of you here on AR!
Beautiful work Cynthia! I love the orange accents you used to bring out the color in the countertops. Very understated and classy. Love it!
Hey there Annie, Thanks for your gracious compliment, I appreciate the visit!
Looks great. You are a definite talent.
Thanks Jack & the gang, I appreciate your kind words :)
Looks like someone was doing a little rockin' and rollin'. A little rulin', too! Great work.
Helloooo Russel, Thanks, this was a great job opportunity for me along with meeting & working with this photographer! Hope your day goes well today Russel :)
Cynthia I love "punch out a photo" now with learned technology makes all the difference in the world for presentation... takes a few extra minutes however worth it.
Hey Lynn, I don't know what 'punch out a photo' is...a software program? I don't have photo on shop or any other type of photo image corrector software. I have occasionally used the free Picnik site.
