Hi Cynthia... Great pic!  Do you still have such colorful blooms on the flowers in Ohio?  They have long since burned off here in Dallas.

Posted by Steve Shatsky about 10 years ago

Thanks Carrie or Kathy....maybe both!

Hi Steve, I just moved here in Ohio about a month ago and this is from my home GA I took right before we moved. Here in Ohio the flora are still blooming too! Thanks for the compliment :~)

WOW, what a great photo girl.  I just love it.  I've always loved flower photos.  My brother has taken several for both my mom and me and framed them for us.    I'm going to have to show him this one and tell him I want him to take me some butterfly and bee photos.

You are right my friend OH so pretty you are.  OH you meant the butterfly. The butterfly doesn't hold a candle to you my friend. Hope you are doing well in your new home.

Fabulous lighting Cynthia, you can actually see where the term "gossamer" wings came from in that shot.

You must have an unbelievably hi-powered lens.  Exquisite!

I love how you can even see the eyes.  I was sitting on our back patio recently watching a beautiful butterfly until it hit our ceiling fan and that was that.  Well after I screamed, I was so bummed (lol).

Posted by Marchel Peterson, Spring TX Real Estate E-Pro (Results Realty) about 10 years ago

Morning Roger, thanks so much! Yes I certainly have been enjoying this beautiful weather here in Ohio, it's been beautiful where I am too.

Morning Lori, I get lucky sometimes, well thank you!

Hey Tammy Georgia Gal, well thanks a bunch! I was sitting on my deck enjoy the Sunday afternoon w/ my camera nearby when I snapped this beauty, even I was surprised of the outcome. Just for you here is a shot from the same day Tammy, enjoy.

Bee on a yellow flower

Hey there Miss Sharon Lee, it sooooo good to see back here in the AR world. You are always such a welcome ray of sunshine :~) Yes i am settling in here in the new home, busy but having fun making it a home. Thanks for asking my friend.

Morning Kevin, I got up close and personal with this shot and I have to agree the afternoon lighting was perfect for this shot. Thanks for stopping by!

You know Patsy it was a Leica lens that came with the Panasonic Lumix Camera, I just got real close. If you check back on my previous blog about 'TEAMWORK and getting the home sold blog', the last photo of my deck you can see the potted yellow flowers on the table. I just get real close and snap away!

Morning Laura, I so glad you stop by and check it out :~)

Oh Marchel, I would be beyond bummed too, loved your story!!! I have to tell you the other day a beautiful butterfly landed on my shoulder once again so I went inside to get my camera w/ butterfly in tow. I could feel the creature starting to move up my neck and as soon as I had my hand on the camera it took off. I'm sure I'll find a dead butterfly in my home soon, yikes!

Morning Mary! I got several shots of this guy and yes I think this creature was enjoying time in the limelight so to speak! I got lucky that afternoon.

Thanks Juli! It's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 w/ a 18x zoom Leica lens. It's about a year old and I picked it up at Costco for around $240 or so.

Well Morning to you Dale, thanks and I always try my best to make it good day :~)

Cynthia - What a gorgeous photo.  It's so close up that I'm afraid of getting pollen on my nose, just from looking at the photo!

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) about 10 years ago

Oh no Sally back it up a sneezing on screen :~)

Hey Jack, besides the lighting effect on the wings I'm a bit partial to his antennae. Must bring back memories of the show I watch as a kid 'My Favorite Martian' you remember that one or are you too young?

Thanks and double thanks Debra, what an honor to be featured in your cool group!

Hi Kathy, we must me thinking alike. I love the yellow on yellow tones also! The creatures seem drawn to me, what can I say?

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

Fantabulous photograph, Cynthia!  And the bee is gorgeous too! Look at all I've been missing!

Posted by Debi Boucher, "Realtor Showcase" - Real Estate Photography/Virtual Tours ( Real Estate Showcase Photography) about 10 years ago

Hi Deb, thanks and I love seeing you back on my blog!

Hi Silvia, that old song kept going through my head when I saw how this photo came out. It was the yellows that made me take this photo :)

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

Cyn- that was perfect, just completely perfect.  today was long and I'm tired and how cool was it that you had a bee too after my comment.  I just love you.  Thanks.

That is incredible to get a shot that is almost all yellow with so much activity as you have. Simply beautiful. :)

My dear Tammy, I bet your days have been long and heart heavy so it was my way of giving you a {{{hug}}} to help you through your week. I love ya too Tammy, it was no trouble at all my friend!

Hi Steve, well a big thank you to you. All I had to do was hang out on my beautiful deck and take in the nature show. The yellow flowers and these small yellow moths kept giving me chance after chance to snap away!

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

Cynthia, I wish I could say I was too young to remember "My Favorite Martian", but no such luck.

Posted by Jack Gilleland (Home Inspection and Investor Services, Clayton) about 10 years ago

I got ya Jack, we are in the same boat. It was such a funny show for a kid and I loved how his antennae raised up and he could disappear. I think that could come in handy here and there ;)

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

I can totally hear that song when I look at that picture. nice title.

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

Now that is a great shot of a butterfly and a bee. I can tell you probably know what you are doing behind the lens.

Posted by Trey Thurmond, College Station , Texas Homes (BCR Realtors) about 10 years ago

Trey, I gonna let you in on a secret....I just get lucky behind the lens at times. I need to read the manual & maybe take a class too :)

Posted by Cynthia Bartch about 10 years ago

Cynthia, you do like your butterflies or in this case moths...and you take such great shots of them.  Not that you need it...but as you say reading the manual is always a good thing.  If you haven't taken classes...they really are helpful and you do learn a lot, they are a great source of technical information, but as I said...your photos are beautiful.

I've taken lots of photography classes for film cameras and developed much of my own B&W prints...I think it's becoming a lost art.  There's something very connected about taking the photo, and working in the darkroom to produce something very unique...special...just look at Ansel Adams work.

Okay, I'll stop...too much coffee today.

Posted by Nick T Pappas, Madison & Huntsville Alabama Real Estate Resource (Assoc. Broker/Broker ABR, CRS, SFR, e-Pro, @Homes Realty Group, @HomesBirmingham & Providence Property Mgmnt, LLC Huntsville AL) about 10 years ago

Hi Nick, in fact that is on my list this week to read that darn manual. I would love to take a class as my husband has encouraged me to do just that. I like knowing all about the tech part of why and reasoning behind it. That way I'm not so disappointed when I think I have a great shot and then have it turn out rather crappy. This one shot above of the moth was not cropped or color adjusted, I had a good subject & cooperative lighting that day!

I think that would be the ultimate to do what you do in your darkroom, it is an great art form. By the way I love B&W photos, I have few in my own home. I think they add something very special to the room.

Yikes is that what coffee does to one's system... if I only liked the taste then I could get all my stuff done!!!
