Great capture... and caption/title Cyn. It is nearly 90 down in Georgia againt today, so what's the temps up in Ohio?
Cynthia- eerie and great title.
Interesting - is that a rooster or a crow?
Cynthia, I'm guessing that's a crow...did this guy wake you up this morning?
Hi Cynthia - great title. I like the way you captured the light and the shadow.
Perfect with Halloween coming up! This is really ominous, reminds me of the movie The Birds.
I'm still waiting for the wreath post Cynthia, so this was quite a surprise I must say...........how about a post about the new "sparkle"? Eerie capture here.
I am convinced some birds are not critters, they are varmints. I have a really persistant Woodpecker that has drilled himself a hole near the roof, under the eaves, and into my attic. First thing tomorrow, a handyman is coming to put a metal plate over it. That darned bird can peck on metal instead of wood for awhile.
Hey Tammy it was in the mid 80's here today with a warm breeze blowing...really nice! As soon as I posted this I went outside to eat dinner on the deck. Thanks, I liked the title myself ;)
Hi Kathy, I took a few shots of him and this one I was able to capture him opening his beak! It is eerie looking.
Hi Juli, I believe it's a black crow but since I grew up in MD I'm gonna pretend it's a raven ;~D You know, the Edgar Allen Poe thing.
LOL, no this crow did not wake me up Nick. I made a day & night of the antique fair in my last blog. After my husband & I hit a few spots in town and when we walked outside this guy was just begging me to take his photo! Can you see he was yellin' at me :~D
Hi there Mary, it was luck, pure luck I tell ya!
Oh man Sharon I must have seen that movie a gazillion times....Hitchcock was a genius. I hope it didn't scare you!
That darn wreath post is gonna haunt me now Roger....now I have to do one. That's what I get for trying to taunt you!!! I simply cannot write about my new sparkler....I do not kiss & tell. Besides everyone will be so jealous and then where will that leave me?
It is eerie isn't it?
Oh Myrl, you sneaked in on me, I was just over at you fabulous bridge photo! I was outside today and heard the loudest woodpecker I had ever heard in my life! I hope you get rid of your varmint for good.
The "sparkler" post I can do without.................I totally understand how you feel about that, but the wreath post is a must.........especially after the fascinating mirror post. It will also put us closer together again. I see you couldn't stand having someone between us............I know how you are Missy.
You are a real stinker Roger, while you were away I did another 'my hometown' Localism blog besides this one, I can't help it I love it here! But you just wait Mr. Mucci when I do the wreath post it will be F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!!!!
LOL, that's right it hurt too much to have Caren between us Roger :(
Great season for taking photos... We saw a great horned owl atop a tall stand of trees behind our house this evening, but the sky was too dark and the bird was too far away to take a photo.
Well you're just going to have to work harder so no one ever comes between us again...........and one day we'll be #3 and #4..............#1 and #2 are almost unattainable...............that emerald binds us now..............I think! LOL.
Oh dang Margaret, that would have been a great photo with a great horned owl! I yet to snap one of those creatures, maybe one day I'll have the pleasure! I'm really enjoying everyone's photos during this colorful season!
Oh wow you dream big Roger....I'll try, I really will....yes your taste in emeralds is impeccable! Oh #1 Maureen is a super blogging machine, very smart and great dry wit too.
Ah..... Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."
Cynthia you are so funny-gonna pretend it is a raven. LOL I like the picture.
Cynthia, you must have an amazingly steady hand to take that photo! It puts me in the spirit for Halloween! :)
Leilani
Jack, ahhh a Poe fan I see, what a great title that would have been....since I'm pretending it is a Raven anyway :)
Yes Debra, since I spent a lot of time in Baltimore the reminders of Edgar Allen Poe were everywhere. So in my mind it is a Raven, lol!!!
Leilani, I did have my tripod w/ me earlier in the day but for this shot it was just my semi steady hands taking 3 shots waiting for him to open his beak. Then I was hoping for a clear shot ;) Spooky..........
A "Baltimore" refererence I see...Ravens, Poe, LOL That is a BIG BIRD...They alight in my yard every day, because I throw things out for them, and I have a fountain that they drain EVERY day! My cats are afraid of them, and mind you, my "kities" are both over 15 lbs! PERFECT shot for the season...
Hi Cynthia, love to follow your blogs and creative mind....
Yep Cheryl, I just couldn't help myself! There was this one bar/grill in east Baltimore called 'The Poe House', it had a big life like & size E.G.Poe sittin' at the edge of the place. It was so cool! Arent you nice to feed not just the colorful birds aww.
Thanks, I thought for the season it was kinda spooky :~)
Hi Barbara, well thank you for that, it's much appreciated. Some might say my mind is a little off center, lol. I like to follow your stylish staging and it's nice to see you posting more!
Cyndee,
Good capture. You can see everything clearly even though it's getting dark. :)
Steve
Morning Steve, I waited and snapped away until I got his beak open...lol, my eye are always peeled open even in the dark!
Cyndee,
You got a spooky photo with a great title which fits well for this time of the year and Halloween coming up! :)
I love your blog and the comments and commenters as everyone drops by and posts and also shares whatever is going on here. Great vibe!
Cynthia, he does seem to be yelling something at you just not sure what. Anyway, just stopped by to say hello and see what's up in your neck of the woods.
Well Jack beat me to it. The picture is very evocative of Poe.
Gerry, I was thinking the exact same thing that evening as I snapped this fella!
Russell, I'm very grateful anyone cares enough to stop by and leave their thoughts, it's me who get the good vibe!
Nick, he was probably yelling at my husband saying... "Why didn't you bring me a a crumb of your leftovers, cause I'm hungry!" Just working on a few projects and have out of the rain for a few days.
Pam, Jack did have the perfect title. Poe was very, very popular growing up in Maryland, I loved it and his writings of course!
Hey Cynthia, Edgar Allen Poe,that is what comes to mind :)
Cynthia It's a good thing he wasn't here waking me up - he'd get an earful from me
well Laura you are I must be on same wave length....even though I know it's not a Raven my fondness for Baltimore tell me it is ;)
I hear ya on that note Karen!!! Luckily in my yard it's those small finch type birds that have been chirping. And they must have been to Manners Camp because they wait until after 9:00 to sing :~D
We have had a lot of crows and ravens on our roof lately. Not sure why, but Zoey the Cool Cat certainly wonders what the heck is going on up there.
Hey Jim, glad to read it's not only me! I hope Zoey the Cool Cat will scare them off for you.
