Ordinarily I would scoff at such weather, but the last few days you'd have thought we had exchaged places with Ohio. Well, not that bad, maybe, although Flagstaff (northern Arizona) hit 19 below last night.

Too cold.

Cynthia - I can just imagine those little robins laying on the beach in Mexico with Pina Coladas!  Oh, to be a bird!

Cynthia....I'm not sure about south, but I am sure that they got the heck out of there!

What a cool picture!  Maybe they have a heater?  And are staying??  :)

Wow Jon, I really couldn't believe my ears when I heard about your weather! Maybe you need to have a felt hat in addition to your smart looking straw one. I have to tell you on New Years Eve it was a balmy 50 degrees perfect for an outside fire.

Hey Sally, I've been away for too long! Oh yeah I can just see them now dancing on the beach. bird dancing

Yes...what Roger said!!  And all our snow has melted in this corner of Ohio, but it was bitter cold yesterday!

Goodness, I do believe they've moved into the newly renovated condo we have in our Palm Tree -- it was 70 degrees yesterday and there was a lot of chirping going on.  Had the windows open and could hear them placing furniture and hanging curtains!

Well hello Cynthia and you have EXPRESSED yourself well with your photo pic. Believe it or not it has been COLD in Las Vegas also but within the next week it will be up around 60 and by the end of January 70s to lower 80s. Born and raised in the Midwest I really know how you feel about this photo and that is why I moved to Las Vegas so many years ago.

Your post & photo have been "Highlighted/ Featured" at one of my favorite groups at Activerain ...

Sheldon, tis true, tis true!

Rascally Roger thanks so much for the compliment on the photo, I had fun playing in the fluffy snow that day. Yes and the same to you Roger may your New Year be fabulous as you!

Bliz, all our snow is gone now also :( But on NYE is quite nice here, so nice in fact we were outside on the patio for most of the evening by the fire.

Oh Tish I'm so jealous I would have loved to see that sight, lol!!! Love your sense of whimsy too, I picture the entire senerio in my head with your description.

Bliz, Oh you sly duo....I can see the super secret code in your comment, LOL!!! As I emailed one of you before, the Christmas circular home decor was ready to go then the server went down. How wacky would I appear to post the making of a fresh xmas wreath now???

Posted by Cynthia Bartch, Redesigned Spaces; All Round Nice Gal (Home Stager/Property Stylist & more! Granville, Ohio) almost 9 years ago

Hey Vegas Bob thanks a bunch for the feature, much appreciated! I've been reading how the cold weather has been touching down in the most unlikely places. Well If you were raised in Midwest you are certainly no stranger to the white stuff!!! I still like it and missed in when living in GA.

That is a neat shot. Don't often see the nests under that much snow close up. :)

Cynthia, your photo reminds me of many snowy days in Chicago and the mid-west.  I know a few people will want to take aim at me with snow balls, but I really do miss the snow.  Love the quiet and clean several inches of the white stuff brings.

You had me there for a minute, I thought you had gone south...great title!  They are talking about another storm this weekend, hopefully I won't be snowed in....wait a minute...as long as I have food, I think I would enjoy being snowed in!

Howdy there-Love your new profile pic. Those birds are smart. They know when to hightail it to warmer climate. Hope you had a great holiday season. Happy 2011.

Bliz, devilish minds think alike ;-O

Steve, thanks, it was that light dry snow and it had just stopped snowing so outside it was to play and off to take a few quick shots.

Nick, I know what you mean, living in GA for 5 years had me yearning for the white stuff we had back in MD. I can't imagine anyone wanting to bombard you with snow balls Nick :~)

Michael, I'm surprised how they survive in this weather, just the other day I saw a light blue bird diving in the trees as I was driving home.

Hey Russell yes and they will welcomed by all! The New Year started off well by the cozy fire...can't get any better than that. Except for having some of that yummy chocolate you had :~)

I love it here Sharon and even the snow! Yes I stock up and cook, cook, cook when the weather is bad!

Diane, yes I bet some went as far as South America as to escape this unpredictable weather here in the US, I wonder if they took their bikinis & swim trunks? Thanks for the visit.

Patricia, I hope they are shaking their tail feathers and doing the sun dance somewhere warm too :~)

Well Howdy to you too Miss Sharon Lee I had a very nice holiday season and I hope you did the same my friend.

Posted by Cynthia Bartch, Redesigned Spaces; All Round Nice Gal (Home Stager/Property Stylist & more! Granville, Ohio) almost 9 years ago

Well my friend I will ask you in a couple years if you are still as fond of that white stuff. Now if you are an outdoor enthusiast you will probably still love it. My holiday was quiet but OK. ha ha I read the other Sharon's reply thinking you were talking to me til I looked all the way to the bottom. If I ever have the chance to come visit I will do so in the summer. Smile

Cydee:  Jumped on here to check if you were still in "blog-land".  Apparently you enjoyed (?) a bit of snow.  From Christmas until the 2nd we were in Steamboat Springs, CO...now let's talk snow - LOL.  The snow is beautiul on the trees, etc. but always good to say I live in the south and dont HAVE to experience it often :).  Take care, looking forward to spring.....for several reasons.  Shhhhhhh, our secret :).  Loved your photo by the way, you never disappoint with your eye and trusty camera.

Hi Cyn, What a great title for your photo!  I imagine a lot of people wished they had flown (not sure about South) SOMEWHERE for the winter! LOL  Your new profile pic looks great, cozy and warm by the fire.

Happy New Year Cynthia!

I'm sorry for the late response guys, I'm still having trouble getting blog response notifications!

Miss Sharon Lee, I loved the snow (most of the time) & spent most of my life in Maryland so I'm used to it and realy missed it in Georgia! But only one complaint, the snows so far are dry so no snowballs throwing or snow woman making!

Hey Dot! You know am very envious of your trip and hoped you had a good time. Being the excellent snowboarder you are I hope you took care on those black diamond runs!!! Looking forward to the seeing you soon :~)

Steve thanks a bunch it's always an honor :~) I had fun in snow yesterday too!

Mary, thanks for stopping by and yes it was very cozy by that fire on NYE. It was only 50 degrees out and it was a nice way to start off the new year. As for those birds a few have stayed to brave it out... there was one very diligent wood pecker in back yard this late morning.

Ana, Seems we have much in common GA, OH but I hope on day to visit your sunny CA!!! I also took forward to rebirth of springtime :~)

Carol, I think they are on beach right now as Sally #2 stated....sitting under an umbrella with their shades on people watching, lol!

Hey Gerry, I have been off AR for a awhile so I'll head over to your part of the world to see what you've been up too. Thanks for the kind words on photo & title!

Tammy, I think I heard on the news that Florida was the only place in the US that no snow, even Hawaii had snow on the Mountain tops! I told you it snowed because I left....I was waiting 5 years for some accumulation of the white stuff so I had to move to Ohio, LOL!!!

Gary, Thanks so much on the nice words on the photo, title and my profile page, your are very kind Sir :~)

Cynthia  I can't say I blame the nest owners.  Of course, "south" is currently iced over

Posted by Karen Kruschka, - "My Experience Isn't Expensive - It's PRICELESS" (RE/MAX Executives) almost 9 years ago

Cynthia- I hope they came far enough south because as it stands today we may be one of the only warm spots around!

Posted by Kathy Streib, Home Stager - Palm Beach County,FL -561-914-6224 (Room Service Home Staging) almost 9 years ago

Cynthia, that photo says it all!!! That's what it feels like up here in CT, except we can't go south. And going south would mean something like going to Rio, because it's just as bad in the Carolinas and Georgia (to hear it from those who are living with snow in those parts).

Posted by William James Walton Sr., Greater Waterbury Real Estate (WEICHERT, REALTORS® - Briotti Group) almost 9 years ago

Karen, yes as soon as I leave GA it snows, go figure! It was something I really missed the snow living in MD.

Kathy, In your area do you have an infulx of little birdies in bathing suits!   :~O

William, It's been crazy weather in the south hasn't it? From my experience when it snow's  in GA it's a panic for the milk , TP, and milk....LOL!

Cynthia, sorry just thought (if you had the time) it would be fun (they told me this tag thing would be fun...first time for me!!)...please throw soft things...believe it or not...my head isn't as hard as it used to be...oh what the hell...clobber me!!!
